Getting involved

The service organization we will be working with is Ronald McDonald House (RMDH), which is an organization we very excited about.  RMDH has over 300 houses across America where families can come and stay while their kids go through necessary treatments for illnesses.  RMDH aims to take some of the financial burdens off of families so they can focus and their kids’ healing.  The houses also give a sense of community to families because they are surrounded by families enduring the same hardships.  The houses include home cooked meals, private bedrooms and playrooms for the children.  RMDH also offers family rooms within hospitals where families can stay close to their kids.  These family rooms often include laundry, kitchens and sleeping facilities.  

Their Mission statement: The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass is to create and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and to strengthen families by keeping them together in times of medical need.
